Mental Health Crisis Convening

November 2018

To help address the need for mental health/substance abuse crisis services, the Legacy Foundation invited a group of key community leaders and stakeholders to convene and begin open discussions.

The first meeting took place today at the Legacy Foundation’s Outreach Center. Convened at the invitation of the Legacy Foundation and facilitated by Deb Dale from Smith and Dale Associates, attendees included County Health administrators, county and local law enforcement and fire services, local healthcare providers, behavioral health services, children’s services, homeless shelter, city government, justice services, among others.

Today’s discussion centered on currently available services, what’s needed, and suggestions/action items. Everyone agrees things need to change to improve these services. Today’s convening session created some new relationships and potential new collaborations and brought to light some new possibilities to look forward to in the future. Working together, we can make things happen here in Cochise County.
