The Legacy Foundation awarded a total of $68,511 in Responsive Grants to 27 nonprofit organizations at its awards celebration on August 8, 2024, at Cochise College.
Projects funded include children’s books, food resources, youth sports, service dogs, suicide prevention, school concerts and so much more.

The Arizona Rangers organization is receiving $3,500 to purchase six protective ballistic vests for the new Rangers.
Aviva Children’s Services is receiving $2,000 to purchase items for their emergency resource closet for foster children in Sierra Vista.
The Boys and Girls Club of Sierra Vista is receiving $3,000 to start a flag football league collaborative with Bisbee, Santa Cruz and Sierra Vista Boys and Girls Clubs.
The City of Tombstone is receiving $2,500 to purchase a pepper ball gun for deputies for a less lethal response.
The Cochise County Master Gardeners Association is receiving $1,564 for supplies for workshop attendees, seed library and their school field trip program.
Cochise Harm Reduction is receiving $2,500 to purchase food, containers and supplies to deliver healthy meals to homeless encampments in Bisbee, Douglas, Benson, and Sierra Vista.
Cochise Serving Veterans is receiving $2,000 for outreach expenses such as paying utilities to avoid disconnect, hotel costs for homeless veterans who are transitioning to permanent housing, car repairs, etc.
Douglas ARC is receiving $3,000 for food containers for 125 homebound meals delivered five days per week.
Family Healthcare Amigos is receiving $2,000 to acquire a portable oxygen concentrator to lend to clients who want more mobility.
Healthy Bisbee is receiving $1,229 to purchase new kitchen equipment to prepare paninis and wraps.
KnightWatch K9 for Warriors is receiving $2,500 towards providing a service dog for a Veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Literacy Connects is receiving $2,000 for children’s books for medical offices.
Love Muziq Operation 13:2 is receiving $2,500 for high school youth after-school mentoring and athletic training program.
Palominas Southern Baptist Church is receiving $2,500 to purchase food for their food pantry.
Patches’ Happy Pastures Rescue and Sanctuary is receiving $2,000 to develop and launch a professional website to market services and support sustainability.
Saavi Services for the Blind is receiving $2,000 to purchase medical toolkits for their Health and Wellness Program for Blind Seniors in Cochise and eastern Santa Cruz Counties.
Senior Citizens of Patagonia are receiving $2,750 to service their ice maker, electric generator, and kitchen appliances for continued ability to provide meals.
The Sierra Vista Symphony is receiving $3,000 toward two one-hour symphonic concerts to local area fifth grade students – free of charge with instructional materials to teachers.
St. John’s Episcopal Church is receiving $2,338 to upgrade the church kitchen and reduce food costs to expand their weekly Rhythmic Slices Pizza/Music Jam events.
St. Vincent de Paul – Douglas is receiving $2,500 to purchase food for lunches on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week and emergency food boxes every Tuesday.
Sunsites-Pearce Fire District is receiving $4,630 for the purchase of a carbon monoxide monitor.
The Be Kind People Project is receiving $3,000 for a youth development program for 500 low-income students in Douglas.
The Salvation Army is receiving $3,000 for their kids’ culinary program which provides a virtual cooking class, ingredients and utensils needed for the recipes for low-income youth.
Volunteer Interfaith Caregiver Program (VICaP) is receiving $2,500 toward their wheelchair-accessible van insurance premiums and fuel costs.
Warrior Healing Project is receiving $2,500 to teach psychological first aid with practical application and provide resources for veterans to prevent suicide.
Willcox Community Food Pantry is receiving $2,500 to provide nutritional assistance for school age children K-12. The program provides weekly food distributions to Willcox Elementary, Middle, and High Schools.
Willcox Theater and Arts is receiving $2,500 for their intergenerational project to address social isolation by recording oral histories of local seniors living in Willcox and the surrounding communities.
