Legacy Foundation Awards Eighteen Nonprofit Organizations Through Our Virtual Responsive Grant Celebration

Eighteen nonprofit organizations within Cochise and eastern Santa Cruz Counties received Responsive Grant awards totaling over $60,000 during the Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona’s virtual Responsive Grant Celebration. The organizations awarded this year are:

Ayuda Smiles, Inc, Bisbee Alternative Therapies Clinic, Bisbee Coalition for the Homeless, Citizens Police Academy Association, Cochise Area Network of Therapeutic Equestrian Resources (CANTER), Cochise County, Cochise County Master Gardener Association, Douglas Area Food Bank, Fry Fire District, Healthy Bisbee Inc., Mentoring Cochise Kids, SAWs Southwest, Senior Citizens of Patagonia, Inc., Sierra Vista Symphony, The Be Kind People Project, The Cree Project, the Town of Huachuca City, and Volunteer Interfaith Caregiver Program (VICaP).

The projects awarded serve a wide range of needs including food and transportation, school programs, opioid education, telemedicine for first responders, community safety measures, re-entry assistance, and help for the homeless, as well as capacity building assistance for the nonprofits. 

This year’s grant award celebration was held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.
